- William Jeffrey (1799-1872) and Ann Hall (1808-1888) emigrated to Canada in 1834 settling at the area that is now Lynde's Creek. William Jeffery was well known in the area as an accomplished stock breeder, especially for his Leicester sheep. The Jeffrey family later moved to Coldstream Farm on Highway 2.
William and Ann had six surviving sons: Alexander (1835-1914), William (1836-1914), Nicholas (1838- ), Robert (1841-1930), Henry (1846-1886), and Andrew (1848-1911).
Akexander Jeffrey married Jane Irving at Whitby in 1871. They had five children: William Irving Jeffrey (1873-1932), Annie May Jeffrey (1874-1956), Hugh Alexander Jeffrey (1876-1961), John Arthur Jeffrey (1877-1922), and Norman Jeffrey (1880-1932). - Date of Original
