- Black and white negative of a photograph showing Albert and Ethel Walker with some of the honey that was sent to England for the royal wedding of Elizabeth and Philip. They are standing on the property of their apiary and home.
- Notes
- The Walkers owned and operated an apiary that was located at the north-west corner of Dundas and Raglan Streets from about 1920 until the 1970s.
In 1921 their honey was selected to be shown at the Exhibition of Canadian Food Products in Crystal Palace in London. They shipped 1000 pounds for the occasion. In 1936 the Walker honey was awarded the only prize to an exhibitor from Ontario at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto.
In October 1947 the Walkers shipped a 24 cans of honey to Princess Elizabeth as a wedding present for which they received a note of thanks from now Queen Elizabeth II. - Date of Original
