Black and white negative of a photograph of an inspector and several other officers at the wreck of the train carrying mules on the Canadian Pacific Railway in Whitby. Two cars are visible in the background and they are perpendicular to the track. Wheels can be seen near the man in the trench coat and hat.
Notes
On 2 November 1916, a train loaded with mules bound for Montreal was derailed at the junction of the Canadian Pacific Railway and the Port Whitby and Port Perry Railway as a result of an error made by the switchman.
