- Black and white negative depicting a photograph of the Dryden family playing tennis on the grounds of Maple Shade Farm, also known as the residence of John Dryden. Some of the women are seated while others hold tennis rackets.
- Notes
- This brick house was built in 1835 on lot 20 of Concession 7 in Whitby Township. It was located on the north side of the the 7th Concession, east of Thickson Road. A second story was added to the house in 1926. It was the residence of James Dryden (1806-1881), John Dryden (1840-1909), William A. Dryden (1881-1949), and John Dryden (1913-2005). The property, known as Maple Shade Farm, was owned by the Dryden family from 1832-1965.
