- Description
- A black and white print of the Whitby Methodist Church in 1926. Written underneath the photo: 'The earliest Methodist Church: Now a Residence'
- Notes
- This was Whitby's first Methodist Church. It was a brick building constructed in 1856-1857 at the north west corner of Centre Street and Mary Street. It served as a church from 1857-1876 and was replaced by the Methodist Tabernacle at the south east corner of Centre Street and Colborne Street. After the church was moved to the new building, this building was converted into a residence.
