- A black and white portrait photograph of Ernest M. Lomax (1886-1952).
- Notes
- Ernest Machin Lomax was born at England in 1886. During the First World War he served with the Royal Canadian Artillery and was awarded the Croix de Guerre for bravery in the field. A resident of Whitby since 1912, he was president of the Great War Veterans Association, and of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 112, in 1933-1934. He worked for some time for the Department of Veterans' Affairs in Toronto and was storekeeper at the Ontario Hospital at Whitby. He retired in 1951. For many years he was involved in the boy scouts. Mr. Lomax died at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto on December 4, 1952 and is buried at Mount Lawn Cemetery, Whitby.
