Description: A black and white portrait photograph of George McGill (1780-1877).
Notes: George McGill was born at Port Glasgow, Renfrewshire, Scotland, on May 15, 1780 and came to Canada from Paisley, Scotland in 1822. He settled on the third concession of Whitby Township and died at Hamer's Corners in Whitby on October 29, 1877 at the age of 97. He is buried at Union Cemetery, Oshawa.
