- William Henry Guthrie and Mrs. Guthrie (Alice H. Westney) were married at 44 Bain Avenue, Toronto on August 8, 1917.
William Henry Guthrie was born in Whitby Township in 1874. He was a farmer all his life and member of the Board of Stewards of Audley United Church. Mr. Guthrie was a member of the Whitby Township Council from 1948 to 1950, Deputy Reeve in 1951 and Councillor in 1954. He died at Oshawa on July 18, 1956 and is buried at Groveside Cemetery.
Alice Hannah Westney was born at Scarborough Township in 1884. She worked as a practical nurse before her marriage. She became president and a life member of the United Church Women of Audley United Church. She taught Sunday School there for more than 30 years. Mrs. Guthrie died at Oshawa on February 24, 1963 and is buried at Groveside Cemetery, Brooklin. - Date of Original
