- A black and white portrait photograph of Thomas Emmett (1829-1911) and Mrs. T. Emmett (Hannah Strickland) (1838-1916).
- Notes
- Thomas Emmett was born at Nawton, Yorkshire, England, on May 26, 1829. In 1845 he came to Canada and settled on the John Watson Farm, lot 35, concession 2, Whitby Township, at Almonds. He retired in 1879 and settled on the Whitby-Pickering Town Line. In 1907 he purchased a house at 306 Gilbert Street West in the Town of Whitby. He was a member of the Whitby Cricket team. Mr. Emmett died at his Whitby home on December 4, 1911 and is buried at Union Cemetery, Oshawa.
Hannah (Strickland) Emmett was born at Rosedale, Yorkshire, England on December 26, 1838. She died at Whitby on November 14, 1916 and is buried at Union Cemetery, Oshawa. - Date of Original
