Description: A black and white portrait photograph of David Briggs (1816-1897).
Notes: David Briggs was born at Dunham, Missisquoi County, Lower Canada, on August 8, 1816. In 1836 he came to Whitby Township and settled east of Myrtle on lot 19, concession 8. He was a county constable and farmer. He died on March 4, 1897 at his home and is buried at Union Cemetery, Oshawa.
