- A black and white photograph of P. Taylor (1831-1911). This picture is from a frame of portraits of members of Composite Lodge No. 30, AF & AM.
- Notes
- Philip Taylor was born at Devonshire, England, on January 20, 1831. He came to Canada in 1844 and established a jewelery business at Oshawa in 1852. He was Worshipful Master of Cedar Lodge, Oshawa in 1873-1874, 1876 and 1879. In the 1880s he moved to Whitby and operated a jewelery store at 107 Brock Street North. He was Master of Composite Lodge in 1897. Mr. Taylor installed the clock in the Whitby Post Office tower and set it working on this 80th birthday (January 20, 1911). He died at Whitby on December 22, 1911.
