- A black and white portrait photograph of James Pringle (1824-1911). This picture is from a frame of portraits of members of Composite Lodge No. 30, Af & AM.
- Notes
- James Pringle was born at Edinburgh, Scotland, in June 1824. He came to Canada in 1833. He was at Cobourg until coming to Whitby in 1836. He was in the hotel business from many years, being proprietor of the Royal Hotel, and later the National Hotel at Port Whitby. After his retirement he was Town of Whitby Tax Collector for many years. James Pringle died at Whitby on September 27, 1911 and is buried at Union Cemetery, Oshawa.
