- A black and white portrait photograph of John Heron and Mary Ewen Heron.
- Notes
- John Heron was born at Dailly, Ayrshire, Scotland on March 18, 1828 and came to Canada with his father William Heron Sr. before 1849 and settled in Whitby Township on lot 29, concession 9, near Ashburn. He was a farmer all his life and died at Whitby Township on December 13, 1890.Mary Ewen was born in 1833 at Aberdeenshire, Scotland and died at Whitby Township on April 24, 1920. She and John Heron are both buried at Burns' Presbyterian Cemetery, Ashburn.
