- A black and white portrait print of Edwin Walter Evans (1859-1934) found on one of his business invoices.
- Notes
- Edwin Walter Evans was born in Pickering Township in 1859 and was a manufacturer and dealer in wood and iron pumps, wind mills and cisterns. He operated this business in Whitby from about 1900 after coming from Claremont. He was the leader of the Claremont Band and after coming to Whitby he became Bandmaster of the 34th Regiment Band and Whitby Citizens' Band. He was choir leader at the Whitby Baptist Church and a member of the Whitby Male Quartet. Mr. Evans died at Whitby on March 16, 1934 and is buried at Groveside Cemetery, Brooklin.
