Description: A black and white portrait photograph of Philip Bennett Whitfield, 1819-1900.
Notes: Philip Bennett Whitfield was born in Cornwall, England on November 12, 1819. He came to Canada in 1841 and settled in Whitby about 1855. He was a builder by trade. Mr. Whitfield died at Whitby on January 6, 1900, and is buried at Union Cemetery, Oshawa.
