- Notes
- Mrs. George McGillivray (Caroline Amelia Fothergill) was a daughter of Charles Fothergill, a noted Canadian naturalist. She was born at Port Hope, Upper Canada on April 20, 1828. She married George McGillivray on March 17, 1846 and lived in Pickering and Whitby Townships. After 1870 she lived at "Inverlynn" in the Town of Whitby, as estate at the corner of Raglan and Giffard Streets. She died at Whitby on September 26, 1909. Mrs. McGillivray is buried at Union Cemetery, Oshawa.
