- Arthur Edward Patterson was born in Brooklin, Ontario on July 9, 1911. As a young man in Brooklin he played lacrosse and was a champion runner. He operated Patterson's Dairy in Whitby from 1930 to 1943. He was Principal of Keystone Chapter Royal Arch Masons in 1946. He later worked in Agg Grocery and in 1947 he took a radio course from the Radio College of Canada and Ryerson Institute of Technology. He was Master of Composite Lodge, Whitby in 1948. He worked for the R.A. Butler Service Company in Toronto and installed the public address system at the Toronto City Hall for Princess Elizabeth's visit in 1951. He also installed the sound system at the Ontario Hospital in Smith's Falls. In September 1954 he opened Patterson's Electronics at 105 Colborne Street West, Whitby. He was responsible for setting up public address systems for special events in Whitby for many years. He retired in 1983. He was a member of the Whitby Rotary Club. Arthur Edward Patterson died on August 4, 2008 at Oshawa and is buried at Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert.
