- A black and white photograph of William VanValkenburgh (1858-1930).
- Notes
- William Melzar (Milton) VanValkenburgh was born in Northumberland County, Ontario on December 6, 1858. He was employed by the Grand Trunk Railway for nearly 50 years and came to Whitby in 1887. He was baggage master at the Whitby Junction Station and later in the freight department at the uptown station. He served on the Board of Education, Town Council and Public Utilities Commission. Mr. VanValkenburgh died at Whitby on February 5, 1930 and is buried at Groveside Cemetery, Brooklin.
