- Graydon M. Goodfellow was born at Toronto on January 9, 1891 and learned the printing trade from his father who moved to Whitby in 1903 to start the Whitby Keystone, a local newspaper. In 1909 Graydon Goodfellow entered McMaster University at Hamilton and after his graduation in 1913, he became a partner with his father Charles Albert Goodfellow at the Gazette and Chronicle newspaper Whitby. The paper was published until December 1941 when it amalgamated with the Oshawa Daily Times. From 1929 to 1948 Mr. Goodfellow was a member of the Whitby Board of Education and served on the board of the Ontario Ladies' College for more than 25 years. He was a prominent Mason and a charter member of the Whitby Rotary Club in 1933. He was a member of the Town Council in 1917. He died while on vacation at Mobile, Alabama on February 7, 1950 and is buried at Union Cemetery, Oshawa.
