- A black and white portrait photograph of Charles Albert Goodfellow (1866-1919). this photo was printed in "The Gazette and Chronicle" on June 25, 1913.
- Notes
- Charles Albert Goodfellow was born at Collingwood, Canada West in 1866. he worked as a newspaper publisher and printer. He moved from Midland, Ontario to Whitby in 1903 and established a newspaper called the Whitby Keystone. In 1906 he acquired the Whitby Gazette and the Whitby Chronicle and amalgamated them as the Gazette and Chronicle in 1912. In 1913 he took his son, Graydon M. Goodfellow on as a business partner. Mr. Goodfellow was a member of the Whitby Board of Education, Chairman of the board of health and secretary-treasurer of the Whitby patriotic fund during the First World War. He died at Whitby on February 16, 1919 and is buried at Union Cemetery, Oshawa.
