- A black and white portrait photo of David Graham Burns (1850-1922). This photo was printed as the frontispiece of "Random Writings" published by David Burns in 1916.
- Notes
- David Burns was born on August 6, 1850 on lot 27, 7th Concession of Whitby Township, the son of an early Scottish settler, James Burns. He was a farmer all his life in Whitby Township and retired to Brooklin, Ontario. He greatly admired the Scottish poet Robert Burns, and wrote many poems himself. Mr. Burns had a number of his poems published in "Random Writings" in 1916 and was considered the poet of Ontario County. he died at Brooklin on August 12, 1922 and is buried at Groveside Cemetery, Brooklin.
