- Notes
- William Paxton was born at Durham, England on April 15, 1791. He married Elizabeth Liddle, formerly Mrs. John Dryden, in England in 1819. The family came to Whitby Township in 1820 and he lived for many years in Port Perry. Liddle died at Whitby Township on September 1, 1855. Later, Paxton married Mary Huckins of Upper Canada. He died at Port Perry on February 20, 1877 and is buried in the Dryden Baptist Cemetery, Whitby Township.
