- A black and white portrait photograph of Reverend John Lindsay (1867-1946).

- Reverend John Lindsay was born at Glasgow, Scotland, on February 7, 1867 and came to Canada at the age of four. He received his early education at Danville Academy, Danville, Quebec and served his apprenticeship as a mechanic at Sherbrooke, Quebec. He decided to go into the ministry after losing his left hand in a mill accident. He attended Morin College and graduated from the Presbyterian College in Montreal in 1896. He held charges at Banks and Gibraltar near Collingwood, Kintore and Lakeside, 1898-1912, and Erin and Ospringe in 1912 to 1925. From 1925 to 1931 he was Minister of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Whitby. He retired in 1931 and was clerk and treasurer of the Synod of Toronto and Kingston until 1944. He did much work for the Pension Board of the Presbyterian Church after his retirement, serving as secretary and later chairman. He was given an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree after his retirement by the Presbyterian College, Montreal. He died at Oshawa on May 24, 1946 and is buried in Mount Lawn Cemetery, Whitby.
