- A black and white portrait photograph of Reverend John S. Clarke (1834-1907).
- Notes
- Reverend John S. Clarke was born in Ireland in February 1834, and came to Canada in 1850. He settled in Toronto where he was employed by James Austin, a banker. In 1854 he entered the Methodist ministry and served at London, Barrie, Grimsby, Oshawa and Thorold. From 1874 to 1876 he was minister of the Methodist Church at Whitby when the Methodist Tabernacle was constructed. He retired about 1895 and died at Niagara-on-the-Lake on May 7, 1907.
