- A black and white portrait photograph of Robert Donald Ruddy, Q.C. (1904-1966).
- Notes
- Robert Donald Ruddy was born on October 30, 1904, at Millbrook, Ontario, son of Robert Ruddy and Elizabeth Leach. He moved with his parents to Peterborough in 1909 and to Whitby in 1917 when his father was appointed Junior Judge of Ontario County. He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto in 1930 and opened an office in Whitby. In 1931 he took over F. H. M. Irwin's law practice, and was appointed Clerk and Solicitor of Ontario County, a position he held until 1947. He continued his law practice for many years and was named as a Queen's Counsel, in 1955. He died at his summer home in Ontario on October 2, 1966, and is buried in St. John's Anglican Cemetery, Port Whitby.
