- A black and white portrait photograph of Calvin Campbell.
- Notes
- Calvin Campbell was born near Kingston, Upper Canada on March 12, 1815 and moved to Whitby Township near Brooklin after the Rebellion of 1837. He was one of the first magistrates appointed when Ontario County was formed in 1854 and for most of his life he was a Justice of the Peace. He was Master of Mount Zion Masonic Lodge, Brooklin from 1858-1859. He was a Whitby school trustee and later became a Councilor for Whitby Township in 1864 and Reeve of Whitby Township from 1865-1866. In 1866 he was Warden of Ontario County. He moved to lot 25, concession 2, Pickering Township (near Dunbarton) about 1873 to live with his daughter, Mrs. Henry Spencer. He died in Pickering Township on December 15, 1895 and was buried in Groveside Cemetery, Brooklin, with Masonic honors.
