A quandary - the factory address is given as 211 Brock St North. Should this address be given as Brock St South since the factory was located south of Dundas St?
Also, the boundary streets of the factory are given as; "Brock Street, Gilbert Street, Byron Street and Dunlop Street". How can this be if the street number of the factory is "211" According to Whitby's street numbering system this number would position the factory on the East side of Brock Street.
Hi Phil, Thanks for your comment. You are correct in noticing the errors in the notes section. The original text had the blanket and the buckle factories confused. I've included the correct information below and I have edited the text.
The Buckle Factory was located at 300 Brock Street South bounded by Byron, Gilbert, and Dunlop Streets.
The Blanket Factory, which is pictured with this record, was located at 211 Brock Street North.
Both factories were owned by Sam Trees.
