- A black and white photograph of Mayor William Davidson (left) presenting the keys to Mrs. Frank Wells (right), President of the Victorian Order of Nurses. In the centre is the VON nurse who used the car, Miss Julia Myers. The picture was taken in front of Donald Motor Sales in Whitby.
- Notes
- A branch of the Victorian Order of Nurses was started in Whitby in 1914. A two day canvass of the community at the end of September 1947 raised enough money to purchase a blue Stylemaster business coupe from Donald Motor Sales at the north east corner of Dundas Street and Ash Street where this photograph was taken.
