Description
A black and white photograph of the interior of Allin's Drug Store, c.1904. Man standing at the counter is "Pegger" Gimlett. Store has displays and shelves with bottles containing pharmaceuticals, and sea sponges for purchase. Sign to the left of Mr. Gimlett says "NYAL'S Family Remedies". Calendar to the right of Mr. Gimlett displays "Wednesday Mar 9" date. Counter on the right side of the photograph has sign advertising Cigars.
Notes
Allin's Drug Store was located at 100 Dundas Street West (on the north west corner of Dundas and Brock Streets). Mr. Allin operated the store from 1896 to 1945. The building where the drugstore was located was called Gerrie's Block. This building was built for James H. Gerrie in 1873.
