This photograph was on the front of the nineteenth leaf of Alex Brown's album. This leaf had 4 pockets for photos on each side. In the top left pocket was a photo of Jim Watson. The top right photo was of Bern MacCarl. At bottom left is a newspaper clipping about Cpl. A.W. Brown and bottom right a newspaper clipping about Captain Donald Beaton. - Notes
- Alex Brown is a local Whitby area veteran. He is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Donald Ross Beaton was born in Whitby on June 8, 1920. He served in the Canadian army for 21 years. He entered military service in 1939 and served in Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Holland during the Second World War. He moved to Virginia in 1964 and died at Richmond, Virginia USA on November 22, 1969.
