- Alex Brown is a local Whitby area veteran. He is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Francis (Frank) Joseph Steffler was born at Whitby in 1913 and servied in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) during the Second World War. He worked at Ontario Hospital and Whitby Psychiatric Hospital from 1947 to 1974 and was a 50 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Whitby Branch. He wrote a history of the Legion in 1977. He died in Ajax in 2002 and is buried at St. Gregory's R.C. Cemetery, Oshawa. - Inscriptions
