This photograph is on the front of the tenth leaf of Alex Brown's album. This leaf has 4 pockets for photos on each side. In the top left pocket is a group photo of Bud Dilling, Bud Heard and Bud Bragg standing outside. The top right photo is of James Bud Heard. At bottom left is a photo of a Newspaper Clipping with the headline "Whitby Men in Casualty List" and bottom right is Vernon Bud Dilling.

Alex Brown is a local Whitby area veteran. He is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Vernon Arthur "Bud" Dilling was born in 1919 and died in Toronto in 1993. He is buried at Mount Lawn Cemetery, Whitby. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Whitby and was a veteran of the Second World War. He was also a member of the Whitby Volunteer Fire Department and the Kinsmen Club of Whitby.

James Leslie "Bud" Heard was born at Whitby in 1917 and died at Oshawa in 2000. He is buried at St. John's Anglican Cemetery, Port Whitby. He served in the Royal Canadian Artillery in France and Germany during the Second World War and was wounded in France in 1944. Bud Heard operated Heard's Garage and Heard's Taxi in Whitby. The garage was closed in 1970 and the taxi company was sold in 1978. Bud Heard was a member of the Whitby Volunteer Fire Department from 1946 to 1972. As well, he was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Whitby Branch.

Steven John "Bud" Bragg was born in Toronto in 1918 and died in Oshawa in 2002. He is buried at Veteran's Plot, Thorton Cemetery, Oshawa. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Whitby Branch.
