This photograph is on the front of the ninth leaf of Alex Brown's album. This leaf has 4 pockets for photos on each side. In the top left pocket is a photo of Harry Town. The top right photo is of Oakley St. Pierre. At bottom left is L/Cpl. G.J. Scott and bottom right is Major Leighton Astrop. - Notes
- Alex Brown is a local Whitby area veteran. He is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Leighton Edward Astrop was born at Reading Berkshire, England on September 15, 1918. He enlisted with the Ontario Regiment during 1940 in the Second World War and was appointed adjutant. He went overseas in February 1943. He rose to the rank of Major in July 1944. He returned in June 1945. Prior to the Second World War, Leighton Astrop was a member of the Whitby Yacht Club. He died in Oshawa on April 16, 1968. - Inscriptions
