- A black and white portrait photograph of Douglas Edward Harper.
- Notes
- Douglas Edward Harper was born at Oshawa on November 27, 1922, son of Irvel Edwin and Flossie M. Harper. He lived most of his life in Whitby, Ontario. He enlisted in September 1943 in the South Alberta Regiment R.C.A.C. with the 29th Armd. Reconnaissance Regt. unit. Hewent overseas in July 1944. He was killed in action during the advance to the Rhine River, Germany, on March 7, 1945.
According to the Canadian Virtual War Memorial site he is commemorated on page 522 of the Second World War Book of Remembrance. He is interred at GROESBEEK CANADIAN WAR CEMETERY, Netherlands.

The top right photo is of Douglas Harper. The bottom left photo is of Pte. Leslie Perry and bottom right photo is George Scott. - Date of Original
