Description
This is a black and white photograph of the stained glass window at the top of the landing of the grand staircase in the original Trafalgar Castle. In the left hand pane, are the coat-of-arms of England and Ireland. In the right hand pane, are the coat-of-arms of Scotland and Canada. In the centre panes at top are the monograms for the Sheriff and his wife, N.G.R. (Nelson Gilbert Reynolds) and F.E.R. (Frances Eliza Reynolds). At the centre are the coat-of-arms of the Reynolds and Armstrong families (Mrs. Reynolds was an Armstrong). At the bottom of the main part of the window, is the monogram O.L.C. which was added at a later date. The window was installed in 1861 or 1862. The glass alone cost $640.
