- This is a black and white photograph of Rev. Joseph E. Sanderson (1830-1913).
- Notes
- Rev. Joseph E. Sanderson was the man who founded the Ontario Ladies' College. He started the public meetings in 1873-1874 to establish the college and personally traveled throughout Ontario to raise funds for the college. From 1871 to 1874 he was the Minister of the Methodist Church at Whitby. From 1874 to 1879, he was governor of the Ontario Ladies' College. Rev. Sanderson was born at York (Toronto) on January 13, 1830 and died at Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, on August 3, 1913. He is buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto.
