Whitby’s own Anne Ottenbrite will be inducted into the Order of Canada at ceremonies to be held on Apr. 10, by Governor-General Jeanne Sauve.

Ottenbrite, 18 of Lyndeview Dr. will be made a Member of the Order in recognition of her gold medal win in the 200 metre breaststroke in the Summer Olympic Games held in Los Angeles. Ottenbrite also won a silver medal in the 100-metre breaststroke and a bronze medal as a member of our individual medley relay team.

The honor will entitle Ottenbrite to place the letters C. M. after her name.
