- Black and white portrait photograph of Bob Attersley in his Whitby Dunlops uniform. Attersley played centre on the Whitby Dunlops hockey team.

- Bob Attersley was born at Oshawa on 13 August 1933. A skilled hockey player, he was a member of the Oshawa Generals and the Whitby Dunlops; he won a world championship with the latter in 1958. In 1960, he represented Canada at the winter Olympics and won a silver medal with the Kitchener Waterloo Dutchmen.
In 1958, Attersley moved to Whitby and in 1964 was elected to the Town Council. He served as deputy reeve from 1966-1969 and regional councillor from 1978-1980. He was elected mayor of Whitby in November 1980 and served as chair of the Durham Regional Police Services Board from 1983-1991. He retired from local politics in November 1991.
