Born in England, her family came to Montreal, and later to St. Catharines, Ontario. She was survived by her loving husband Bob Bell and her brother Stephen Hair (Michael) in Calgary. She was stepmum to Rob Bell (Jen) of Oshawa and Leanne Bell (Arvid) of Waterdown, Ontario and Nanny to grandson RJ Bell of Oshawa. RJ always made Jane smile, a smile that could melt gold. She loved him with all her heart. Jane was predeceased by her parents Diana and Frederick Hair. Jane made friends easily with anyone she met. She had a kind, generous heart which en- deared her to all who knew her. Jane loved nature and she loved to garden. Her garden was always full of fragrant, colourful blooms throughout the growing season. She had an eye for photography and she won many ribbons in her Garden Club for her images of flowers. White daisies, Black- eyed Susans, Lilies, Daffodils, Forget-Me-Nots and Tulips were all in her favourites category. Jane loved to travel. We dis- covered many wonderful places and met many wonder- ful people on our trips. Paris, France was her favourite city of those we'd been to. Encounter water, whether it be an ocean, lake or river and it was time to wade...off with the shoes. Her favourite beaches were in Cuba. Closer to home she loved our almost annual trips to Algonquin Park walking the trails and soaking in the gorgeous autumn colours, especially the brilliant red maples. Another love we both had was dancing...especially jiving. "Just take those old records off the shelf..." As an ardent Blue Jays fan, Jane seldom missed cheering them on as she watched them on television. We did make it to one live game. Jane joined the world of technology enthusiastically... embracing computers, email, smart phones, texting, social media and her favourite online games. Her sharp mind made it all easy for her...most of the time anyway. Courageously strong, Jane fought cancer with an un- yielding determination, never complaining. Cremation has taken place. Jane's family extends our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful care she was given at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. As per Jane's wishes there was no funeral nor will there be a Celebration of Life. If you would like to make a donation in Janes's name to the Cancer Clinic at Lakeridge Health Oshawa or to a charity of your choice, that would be greatly appreciated. Generous as she could possibly be, always giving her love to others, I can't imagine anyone having a kinder heart than Jane did. I and others who held Jane in our hearts will miss her more than words can express. I love you so much sweetie. -fini- SMITH, Stephen (Steve) ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Steve left us peacefully, on November 7, 2022 at Lakeridge Health Ajax, in his 63rd year. Love forever, your Sweet Peach OBITUARIES | REMEMBERING THE LIVES OF THOSE IN OUR COMMUNITY There is a link death cannot sever, love and remembrance last forever. And while you lie in peaceful sleep, your memory we shall always keep. Time may heal the broken-hearted, time may make the wound less sore; but time will never stop the longing for the loved one gone before. Heavy are our hearts today, memory brings you back once more, to the time when you were with us, to the happy days of yore. May the winds of love blow softly and whisper so you'll hear; we will always love and miss you and wish that you were here. A sweet little flower, nipped in the bud, no grief or sorrow knew. And have you gone, forever gone and left us here to weep. Till we are called to follow you, and in the grave to sleep. IN MEMORIAM
