All three men face human trafficking, procurement and other charges. According to the London Police Service, a Whitby woman was conversing with a man using a social media platform in May of this year and she agreed to meet the man at a shopping centre in Scarborough. In a London police statement it's alleged that after meeting, the man offered to escort the woman home and that when the woman realized that they were not heading toward her home, "the man showed her a gun." Police allege that the man made threats toward the woman "if she did not comply with his demands." Between June 5 and 18, police allege that the woman was sent to places outside of London and sexually assaulted on multiple occasions. Police also believe that the man continued to threaten the woman. Police allege in their statement that on June 18, 2022, the woman was brought to London "where she was forced to perform sexual acts for money in various locations within the city." Further, they allege the man introduced her to two other men, who also sexually assaulted the woman and forced her to perform sexual acts for money." On June 26, the woman was able to escape and contact police. Justin Steven Adams, 35, Matthew Parris-Cassidy, 32, both of London, and Jonathan Drummond, 37, of no fixed address, were charged with: trafficking in persons by recruiting and exercising control; financial and material benefit from trafficking a person over 18; forcible confinement; extortion; material benefit from sexual services; and procuring or recruiting a person to provide sexual services. All three men also face individual charges, including assault, sexual assault and uttering death threats. Adams and Drummond are in custody, while London police continue to look for Parris-Cassidy. Charges have not been proven in court. Investigators suspect there may be other victims and encourage those victims to contact police.
