Terry came to Ontario from Saskatchewan as a young teenager and landed her first job with a Toronto furrier. From making beautiful fur coats to her creations in sewing for her children and grandchildren were nothing short of prize winning. Many of her knitting and sewing projects won first prize ribbons at the Port Perry Fair. Terry retired at the age of 60 from the Port Perry Villa, where she had spent many years spreading her kindness. Retired she tried her hand at golfing and she managed to sink 6 holes in one, over her time spent at Summerlea Golf Course. We have a huge hole in our hearts and lives and will miss her very much. Terry left this world under the loving watchful eye of her children Ken, Bonnie and Sharron. Terry leaves behind her children and their spouses Ken MacDonald (Sharon Graves), Bonnie (Larry Postill), and Sharron Barclay. Her grandchildren Carole Ann, Scott, Lisa, Kacey and Ashley are broken hearted and will fondly remember the love she showered on them. They each had their own version of nicknames. Farm Grandma, Brown Grandma and G.G. Terry was also a Great Grandmother and a Great Great Grandma. Although we are incredibly sad, we are equally comforted by the knowledge of the number of Hillsdale Terrace Staff that cared about our mother. We were blessed with many visits over the last week from Sugar Trail staff and many other areas of the home. Environmental/Housekeeping Services, PSWs, RPNs, RNs and some office staff took a few minutes to stop by Terry's room to express their sorrow and share their memories of better times they had spent caring for her. You will never know how much these gestures of caring meant to us. Alzheimer's is an evil disease that slowly robs and transforms vibrant, loving and contributing minds into lost and frightened souls. Thank you to the Hillsdale staff including Dr. Thomas for your care of this once funny, loving, never judgemental, hardworking talented woman. There will be no service at Terry's request. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Alzheimer's Society through the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171). Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.waggfuneralhome.com OBITUARIES | REMEMBERING THE LIVES OF THOSE IN OUR COMMUNITY Heavy are our hearts today, memory brings you back once more, to the time when you were with us, to the happy days of yore. We are sad within our memory, lonely are our hearts today; for the one we loved so dearly has forever been called away. We think of you in silence, no eye may see us weep; but many silent tears are shed when others are asleep.
