durahregion.com This Week Thursday, April 21, 2022 | 26 FICE, Gladys Reta (nee Forsey) 1927 - 2022 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Wife of the late Elwood Fice, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the Victoria Manor in Lindsay, Ontario. We would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Manor for the wonderful care they provided. Reta grew up in Bowmanville and had three children, Alan, David (Tracy), Sandra (Cord Weir) and their four grandchildren Rob Weir (Julie), Shelly (Aaron Ham), Amanda (Nick Anderson) and Ashley (Paul (Dion), along with six great- grandchildren Emily, Lydia, Dylan, Clara, Trevor and Ava. Always a Mom figure to her children's friends, Mom Fice or Grannie to everyone who knew her. Reta was always kind and a loving person to all. Always up for a card game with family and friends. Always willing to sit and chat. Reta was an avid bowler in her day at Liberty Bowl where she was a member of the Liberty Bells. She especially enjoyed her trailer on Crowe Lake spending time with family, relatives and friends. Later together her and Elwood bought a cottage on Cordova Lake and again Reta enjoyed when company or family visited. She enjoyed cooking and campfires by the lake. Later Reta and Elwood moved to Pontypool to a small hobby farm where she enjoyed seeing the grandchildren playing with the chickens, rabbits, horses, donkeys, cats and dogs. She lived her life always pleasing and helping her family. Enjoyed watching her grandchildren playing hockey and figure skating as well as watching the Bowmanville Eagles and later the Lindsay Muskies. She also enjoyed attending and watching all the events, even the odd Blue Jay versus Yankees game when she cheered for the Yankees. At the farm and later in Victoria Manor she enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels from her window. Entering her room, she often would ask, "did you bring anything good to eat, where are my chips and Peps and the bird feeder needs some feed". She took joy and peace in the past year watching the birds and saying, "I want to fly away with the birds" and she has now flown away to be with her late husband Elwood and her three brothers George, Lloyd and Shirl. She is loved, sadly missed and never to be forgotten. We love you and until that day unknown Fly Mom Fly. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Morris Funeral Chapel. Donations can be made to the Clarington Animal Shelter or Kawartha Humane Society.
