She was born Mary Theresa Egan in Boyle, Ireland, on April 8, 1945. Daughter of the late Elizabeth and Patrick Egan, beloved sister of Margaret (Fred) Wheeler and John (Mary) Egan. She is survived by loving husband Gerard Lynch, children Vincent, Margaret, and Brian Lynch, their spouses Simon Wilcox and Paula Stavro -Leanoff, grandchildren David Jabal, Aiden Lynch, and Isaac Rosas Wilcox Lynch, and David's mom Analyn. Known lovingly by her community and family as a modern day saint, she devoted her entire life to helping others. From emigrating to Canada as a nurse in 1968 where she went above and beyond the call of duty for +50 years to her countless hours of volunteering with St John's Ambulance, Catholic Women's League, St Joseph The Worker Parish, Meals on Wheels, The MS Society, Daughters of Isabella, St Vincent's Kitchen, Canadian Federations of Parish Nurses, March of Dimes, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Jaycettes, Street Ministry, and Chaplaincy at Lakeridge Health among others. She was a firecracker to those who knew her, always charming and fond of a laugh. To the thousands who needed her help she never hesitated to create a tidal wave of caring that would help the person in need to work through incredible hardships and find their feet. She took in dozens of people to live in the family home, gave everything she had without any expectation in return, and cherished the act of being generous even to total strangers. She wasn't always perfect but she tried her best and her heart was always in the right place. While to the outside world she was a saint to her family she was a loving mom, grandma, and wife who always made you feel safe and loved. Mary will be desperately missed. Her passing left a giant void but also a template for others who want to truly make a difference with their life.
