Although Nicole had an ongoing battle with significant medical difficulties over the years, she will be remembered for more than this. She was an artistic person who pursued everything with great passion. A few of her favourites were diamond painting, travelling, and enjoying the outdoors. She was the kind of person who when she loved, she loved deeply with full heart. She was survived by Loving Mother Lori Arbuthnot, Caring Stepfather Franklin McKnight, Loving Younger Sister Jessica Arbuthnot McKnight, Cher- ished Grandparents Sandra Symmonds and Malcolm Symmonds, Great Aunts and Uncles Jean Noland, Dan Noland, Nancy Wraight, late George Wraight, Father Kevin Joseph Stanyer, and loving Uncle and Aunts of the McKnight family. The McMorran family are in our thoughts and prayers. I send with appreciation and gratitude to Joyce Arkinson for always being there. Pat was predeceased by her devoted husband of 69 years Benjamin "Bob" Salmers, her parents James and Grace Wilson and her siblings Grace, Margaret and Jim. She will be deeply missed by her sister Ruth Maracle; her sons Brian (Carol), Blake (Sandy), Chris (Leslie) and Greg; her grandchildren Amy, Cameron, Daniel, Eric (Trish) and Kathryn (Jamie); her great-grand- daughter Elle Marie, her nieces, nephew and Marlene Salmers. Pat was born in Bowmanville, Ontario and lived in Oshawa, Ontario. She worked at the Oshawa Times as a proof- reader where she met her husband, Bob. When her sons attended Sunset Heights School, Pat was active in the Home and School Association. She was later involved in scouting when her sons joined the local troop. While raising four active boys, she worked in the coat department at the Oshawa Eaton's. Pat loved the "Sewing Club" which was formed during WWII. She enjoyed the club "meetings" for 60 years as well as the club's family events. Pat will be remembered for her perpetual sunny dispo- sition and her love of reading, music, singing and travel. She and Bob spent many happy hours enjoying their lovely garden and feeding various birds. They were both long time active members of Knox Presbyterian Church. Our family wishes to thank Pat's caregiver, Ever, for her loving care, compassion, advocacy and dedication on behalf of our mother. We would like to express our appreciation to the Hillsdale recreation staff who facilitated regular Zoom calls.
