BARNARD, Harold Ian Marshall ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Harold "Hal" Barnard. Harold passed away February 3, 2022. He was a son of the late Stillman Forest and Hazel Mae (Marshall) Barnard. Hal was the much-loved husband and best friend of Mabel (Johnson) and great dad to Chris (Maureen) of England, Leslie (deceased October 2020) and Kara (fiancé, Dave Peach) of Ingramport NS, and grandfather to Emily, Victoria BC and Katie, London England, and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Harold also leaves behind his sister Joyce Book, Grosse Point Michigan, brother T. Kenneth (Janet) Barnard, Bedford NS and brother-in-law Ian Campbell, Toronto Ontario and is predeceased by siblings Shirley (Faulkner), Stillman "Tim" Barnard, Marie (Leadley), Ann (March), and Elizabeth "Lee" (Campbell). Harold started his financial career in Halifax Nova Scotia, moving to Ontario in 1966 to manage the Sudbury branch of the Canada Permanent. He worked in the financial industry until 1995 when he retired from CIBC. He loved his time puttering at the cottage and going out on the lake for a run in his boat. During the winter months, he spent time in Florida and enjoyed all the friends he made from Canada and the US. When not in Florida, he enjoyed the company of close friends at home, Roy and Donna, and Dave and Candy. Funeral arrangements are being taken care of by T.K. Barnard Funeral Home in Sackville Nova Scotia. There will be no service at this time. A Remembrance Service and burial will take place in the summer of 2022 in his hometown of Halifax Nova Scotia.
