Cherished grand- father of Laura Banks, Lisa (Barry) Hill, Andrea (Noah) Banks, Stephanie (Eric) Duncan, Angela (Kirk) Caza, Zachary Closs, Sarah Closs, and great-grandfather of Jacob and Michael, Cloe, Violet and Jax, Lena, Max and Anna. Dearly loved by his brother-in-law Bruce Mitchell and sisters-in-law Judy (Carl) Mansfield, Carol (John) Hendry, as well as many nieces and nephews. Willy was a lifetime lover of hockey and the Toronto Maple Leafs, and was well known for the many houses, cottages, and trailers he owned and built over the years. Born in Dublin, Ireland, on December 13, 1931. Beloved wife to the late Laurence Finnegan. If ever there was a matriarch of the family, it was Clare. Born October 27, 1960, to parents Ross MacKinnon and Evelyn Thornton MacKinnon (deceased). A gentle giant, Pete was loved by all but chose to share his life as a loving husband to his wife of 36 years and best friend for 40 years, Robbie (Roberta Willis MacKinnon). Pete was the best dad ever to his son, Bruce Roy MacKinnon (Coley), and will be lovingly remembered as baby brother to Rob, Murray (Heather), and Ralph (Alexandra). Loving son-in-law to John and Angela Willis, he will be dearly missed as brother-in-law to Cheryl (Bruce), John (Suzie), Tammy, and uncle to David, Shelley, Michael, Mac, Miranda, Cadence, Raelynn, Bonnie, Jack, and Emily. His love spread all the way to his great- nieces and nephews Kade, Matthew, Benjamin, Sophia, Simon, Evangeline, and Julian. April 27, 1937 - February 25, 2022 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Surrounded by his loving family, Ronald Barrymore Montgomery, 84, passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday, February 25, 2022. He is survived by Janet, his devoted wife of almost 65 years, and daughters Kathryn (Alan Perry), Laurie (Jim Haughey), Jill (Jeff Moulton) and Heather (Rob Hannam). Ron's grandchildren adored him and include Alan James Perry (Alyssa), Elyse Perry of Toronto, Sinéad Haughey (Michael) and Gabriel Haughey of Clemson, South Carolina. Mother, Mildred, father Charles and his brother Bern predeceased him. Born in Orillia, Ontario on April 27, 1937, Ron's youth was spent in the Parry Sound region. In the aftermath of Hurricane Hazel in 1954, Ron was hired along with legions of repairmen to restore communication throughout a vast portion of Ontario. Ron retired from Bell Canada in 1992 with 37 years of service, having lived in Oshawa his entire adult life. A visitation and funeral service was held Thursday, March 3, 2022. A private interment followed at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Friends of Algonquin Park (FOAP), a non-profit Canadian registered charity dedicated to furthering the educational and interpretive programs to develop current and future stewards of Algonquin Park. TILK, Gerald ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Tilk on February 20, 2022. He was the dear husband of Linda (Eccles) of over 53 years and proud, loving father of Susan Tilk, and son-in-law, Chad Sakac. He will be greatly missed by his cherished granddaughters Julie and Sarah Sakac. He is predeceased by his wonderful siblings Delbert, Isabelle (Sutton), Don and Alvin, and half-sister Kim (Bernard). He was a beloved uncle to many nephews and nieces. Gerald was born in Oshawa May 6, 1946. He was an accomplished and well-respected refrigeration mechanic. Gerald owned and operated HADL Refrigeration Ltd (Home Appliances Durham Ltd) for over 30 years and was honoured to have so many loyal and appreciative customers for so many years. He was passionate for music, a great bottle of wine and sports of all kinds and levels. For many years he greatly enjoyed volunteering his time with the Oshawa Aquatic Club, where he met great friends and was affectionately known to the swimmers as "Mr. T". As an avid baseball fan, he recently traveled to 14 different major league baseball parks to watch his favourite team, the Toronto Blue Jays. Right until the moment he died his wit, humour and good-heartedness was felt by all that knew him. Gerald, Dad, Papa, we love you and will miss you dearly.
