- Colour photograph showing the demolition of the Brooklin Public and Continuation School over a series of days in June, 1982.
- Notes
- Located on the southeast corner of Winchester Road and Baldwin Street, the Brooklin Public and Continuation School was built in 1923 to replace the aged Brooklin Public School on Winchester across from the arena.
The school officially opened in January 1924. It had six classrooms, running water, fire protection equipment, including a detachable metal chute fire escape, and three acres of land. Most of the students in Brooklin attended school there.
A second elementary school was opened in Brooklin in 1958 and the Brooklin Public and Continuation School was closed in 1972 due to low enrollment. After sitting vacant for many years the building and property were sold by the school board to a developer for $100 000 in 1980. The developer demolished the building in 1982. - Date of Original
