So glad to have loved you and For the time that we had. Forever in our hearts xxoo MATTHEW ANDREW BLACK ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Passed away suddenly at home on January 1, 2022 at the age of 39 years. Loving husband of Corinna Traill. Beloved son of Andy and Susanne Black and loved brother of Joel Black (Laura) and Rebecca Jane (Melissa Whitfield). Cherished uncle of Elias, Jude, Lara and Benjamin. Dear son-in-law of Terry and Prof. John Traill and brother-in-law of Prof. Ariana Traill (Brian DeMarco) and Dr. Larisa Traill (Robb Girard). Matt was a doting dog dad to Pericles and Boadicea. Matt was a proud "Bow- manville boy" with a wicked sense of humour who accomplished so much in so few years: a licensed mechanic, and also worked as a welder and delivery driver. His interests were as broad as his shoulders: as a bass player, he loved classic rock, target shooting, a good cup of bodum coffee, canoeing and his new hobby of cooking. Matt was a true renaissance man who was as comfortable working in the auto shop as he was travelling around the world with his love, Corinna. "Look after your equipment and your equipment will look after you" was his favourite motto" which spoke to his patience, love of organization, his kindness and his dependability. He will be dearly missed by everyone who met him, as one in a million. A Memorial Visitation was held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to The Brain Injury Association of Durham. Online condolences may be left at: www.northcuttelliott.com GRAHAM, Edgar Harold (Ed) ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Passed away at the Bowmanville Creek Retirement Community on January 9, 2022, at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by his parents Victor and Mildred Graham, his sister Eleanor, son John, and his former wife Eleanor Anne Sofroniuk (née Thompson). Ed will be lovingly remembered by his brother Glenn (Betty) and his sister Freda and by his nieces and nephews. Ed began teaching in 1953 and spent the greater part of his teaching career in Oshawa, including Ridgeway Public School and Dr. S.J. Phillips Public School, where he taught Grade 7 and 8 until his retirement in 1988. Ed's intelligence and famous sense of humour were his hallmarks, both to his loved ones and to the generations of students who passed through his classroom. Following Ed's wishes, a private service will take place at the time of interment at Wellmans Cemetery. The family is deeply grateful to all the staff at Bowmanville Creek Retirement Community, as well as the home care PSWs, the palliative care team, and physiotherapists. FLINT, Blayne January 28, 1999 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ I'm sending a dove to Heaven, With a parcel on its' wings, Be careful when you open it, It's full of beautiful things. Inside are a million kisses, Wrapped in a million hugs, To say how much I miss you, And to send you all my love. Love Carolyne, Justin and Ryan OBITUARIES | REMEMBERING THE LIVES OF THOSE IN OUR COMMUNITY We are sad within our memory, lonely are our hearts today; for the one we loved so dearly has forever been called away. We think of you in silence, no eye may see us weep; but many silent tears are shed when others are asleep. Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep, I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glint on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush. A loving person, so gentle and kind; what a wonderful memory you left behind. Long days, long nights, you bore your pain. To wait for a cure, but all in vain. Till God Himself knew what was best. He took you home and gave you rest. IN MEMORIAM
