Friday, November 29, 2019 5Brooklin Town Crier Richard Brannigan celebrated his 100th birthday on Nov. 13 at the Court of Brooklin. A World War II veteran who served overseas, Brannigan was joined in the celebration by dozens of residents, Mayor Don Mitchell, Councillors Rhonda Mulcahy and Steve Lee, MPP Lorne Coe, and, most important, the Brooklin Legion Colour Guard. Brooklin's Optimist Club recently held its annual Breakfast with Santa, a Brooklin family tradition. Friends and family enjoyed pancakes, sausages, fruit and hot chocolate bars. Children were delighted to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus! Children also enjoyed making crafts, decorating cookies, having their faces painted and hearing Christmas stories.
