- A colour photograph of two 14-ton cannons on a flatbed truck at 605 Rossland Road East in Whitby. Two men are attaching a banner to the side of the truck. Written on the banner: An official fund raising project of the Halifax Citadel Foundation. Historic Cannons bound for Halifax worth their weight in gold! Assisted by Halifax Herald Limited, Atlantic Television Network, Halifax Citadel Hotel, Canadian Parks Service, Province of Nova Scotia, City of Halifax.

- The two 14-ton cannons were transferred to the Ontario County Courthouse at 416 Centre Street South from the Citadel in Halifax, in 1902. On June 16, 1964, they were moved to the new Courthouse at 605 Rossland Road East. On July 8, 1989, the cannons were returned to the Citadel as part of a restoration program.
